Carlyle Lake is located in Southwestern Illinois approximately 50 miles straight east of St. Louis, Missouri. Carlyle Lakefront Cottages are located within Eldon Hazlet State Park.

        Eldon Hazlet State Park which is over 3,000 acres, is on the west shore of Illinois' largest man-made lake, 3 miles north of Carlyle and 2 miles east of Route 127 in Clinton County. Annually, more than a million plus visitors camp, boat, fish, hunt, picnic, bird-watch and hike. Considered the region's sailing mecca, 26,000 acre Carlyle Lake hosts regattas almost every weekend throughout the summer. Nearby attractions include execellent golf courses and restaurants, large sandy beaches with swimming areas, boat rentals, a family fun park, and plenty of small-town, country charm.
